Cessna 150 Safety review by Brian Lowe
Today most pilots learn to fly on modern designs that benefit from years of hard-earned knowledge. Older aircraft, however, will be around for many years to come. Older machines, while perfectly airworthy, need to be treated with care and some extra knowledge and training may necessary for those not 'brought up' on older designs. In particular, the stall/spin characteristics of some of the earlier designs may catch the untrained or the unwary out, if this happens close to the ground the results are usually fatal. Here are an excellent couple of articles originally published in Flying in Ireland magazine with some thought provoking information for not just C150 pilots but for anyone thinking of flying an older light aircraft.
